Shops told to clear out shoddy kit
SEVEN clothes shops have been told to smarten up their acts after being found selling substandard items, the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau said yesterday.
The worst offender was City Outlets in Changning District, where almost 60 percent of the products tested late last year failed the watchdog’s quality tests.
The most common problems were misleading labels and poor color fastness, the bureau said.
Of the 110 batches of products tested across all of the stores, down-filled jackets fared worst under scrutiny, it said.
The stores were given an unspecified period of time to resolve the issues and will be reassessed at a future date, the watchdog said.
