Signature hotel on track
Shanghai Disney Resort yesterday announced the topping out of its 420-room Shanghai Disneyland Hotel.
Construction work began 12 months ago on the signature hotel, which will have an “Art Nouveau” style, coupled with “a touch of Disney magic and imagination,” resort officials said.
“Guests will enjoy stunning views of Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and the resort’s central lake,” they said.
The company yesterday released images of the hotel, and of its sister, the 800-room Toy Story Hotel, which is inspired by the Pixar animated movies of the same name.
The topping out of the Toy Story Hotel took place in January last year.
The first pictures of the under-construction Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure ride, which will be the centerpiece of Treasure Cove, Disney’s first pirate-themed “land,” were also released yesterday.
