Solstice visits

AN estimated 2.25 million people will visit cemeteries to pay respects to their ancestors around the winter solstice, about 140,000 people more than last year, the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said yesterday.
The peak is expected on December 22. More than 200,000 vehicles will carry visitors. Cemeteries near Metro lines said they will provide free shuttle buses.
