Students punished from taped stripping

FIVE girl students received six months to one year in prison with probation for forcibly stripping off a classmate's clothes and videotaping the whole process, the Baoshan District People's Court said yesterday.
The six are students at a local vocational school. One of them surnamed Wang suspected that another student surnamed Yu spoke ill of her behind her back.
Last September, Wang asked four of her friends to bring Yu to a bathroom in the school building and beat her up, causing Yu to suffer bruises.
Moreover, they took off Yu's clothes and undergarments and videotaped her naked body using a cell phone.
The accused told the court they were just playing a joke.
The court, however, ordered them to pay 45,000 yuan (US$6,671) to Yu for medical expenses and compensation for mental anguish.
