Suicide by elderly couple

AN elderly couple died in a fire at their home in Jinshan District yesterday in what police believe was a case of joint suicide. The couple, both of whom were in their 80s, were found dead about 1pm in a burnt-out property in the village of Dongcun in the Shihua neighborhood, police said. A handwritten note apparently left by the couple accused their children of neglecting them, an officer said.
