Summit security measures to continue
SHANGHAI will maintain the high level of security in place for the recent Asian summit due to the terror attack in Xinjiang, police said yesterday.
Police held an emergency anti-terrorism meeting after Thursday’s attack, requiring all units to continue the mission they were given during the Shanghai summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
These include tightened security checks at the city’s entry points, armed patrols at major junctions and busy areas, and mobile police squads ready to attend at any incident within three minutes.
