Suspect caught in stabbing death of nail technician in Xujiahui

POLICE say they have caught the man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death with a kitchen knife after chasing her from a nail studio in Xujiahui on Tuesday.

The suspect, surnamed Dou, was caught in Wuxi city of neighboring Jiangsu Province at about 8pm yesterday. Dou admitted that he killed his girlfriend over emotional problems, police said.

The woman, a nail technician, was killed in a corridor on the 32nd floor of a highrise at 325 Tianyaoqiao Road. The victim, a native of Hubei Province and born after 1980, bled to death after being stabbed in the neck.
