Suspect held over hammer attack

A MAN has been detained after two foreign female students were seriously injured in a hammer attack in Baoshan District, police said yesterday.
The students, one from France and the other Indonesia, are being treated at hospital and were said to be in a life-threatening condition. The women, aged 20 and 22, study at Shanghai University.
The suspect, surnamed Hu, randomly attacked pedestrians on Shangda Road following a dispute with someone on Friday.
