Tests find ‘tainted’ cakes
INITIAL tests of food from the popular Hong Kong-style dim sum chain “LIST” found traces of salmonella in some cakes, the Shanghai Food and Drug Administration said yesterday.
The chain’s nine outlets and its central kitchen were ordered to close temporarily at the weekend after customers from four branches, which officials said include CapitaLand Hongkou Plaza, complained of gastrointestinal discomfort. More than 100 food samples have been tested and the investigation continues.
