Two killed, 7 injured in airport shuttle bus crash near Pudong airport
TWO female passengers were killed in an airport shuttle bus crash near the Pudong International Airport on this morning.
Seven others were injured and are being treated at Shanghai Pudong People’s Hospital with none in critical condition, officials said.
The injured included four women and three men. Four of them suffer bone fractures, including the oldest patient, who is 61 years old, the hospital told Shanghai Daily.
The three others with slighter injuries could expect to leave the hospital by noon and they include a 14-year-old boy and an air hostess, said the hospital.
No foreign nationals were included, the hospital said.
A preliminary investigation found two passengers were thrown out of the bus on the Huaxia elevated road after it bumped into a road maintenance car and then the guardrails. The duo were confirmed dead on the scene.
The Airport Route 4 bus was nearing the exit of the elevated road when the crash took place. An investigation is still underway.
