Two vehicles catch fire in morning rush hour downtown

TWO vehicles spontaneously combusted during the morning rush in Yangpu and Zhabei Districts of Shanghai today.
The incident resulted in no death or injury but did cause road congestion, reported today.
At around 8am, a sedan caught fire at a major crossroad in Yangpu District.
The driver rushed out quickly and tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher on board. The front tires exploded, the window shattered and goods inside the car were burned, said a security guard of a nearby shop.
The fire emergency extinguished the fire within half an hour.
The accident caused a serious congestion until 8:40am.
Another car, whose engine had combusted to a lesser degree, was saved by the firemen and had relatively small damage in Zhabei District around 7am.
Police are still investigating the cause of combustion.
