Verdict due in frozen wife case

THE verdict in the case of a husband who confessed to killing his wife and stored her body in a freezer for three months will be announced today, according to Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court.
Zhu Xiaodong, 31, pleaded guilty to strangling Yang Liping at their home in Hongkou District in a trial that opened on November 29, 2017 at Shanghai No.2 Intermediate People’s Court.
Yang’s father Yang Ganlian said the family did not want an apology or compensation, they just wanted justice.
Zhu handed himself over to police on February 1, 2017, claiming he killed his wife on October 18, 2016. Zhu admitted his guilt and expressed remorse in court.
