SHANGHAI Airport Authority and Internet giant Tencent yesterday signed a deal to develop a new WeChat service that will allow airline passengers to check flight details, check in their luggage and buy insurance against delays through the social media platform.
Passengers will be able to access detailed information about their flights, and even the state of the weather at the airport, said Wu Yi, manager with the payment department of Tencent. The service will be available in several languages, he said.
