Woman sent to detention

A 42-YEAR-OLD woman who helped three Vietnamese to forge ID cards was detained for six months, Qingpu District People’s court said yesterday.

The woman, surnamed Miao, from Hubei Province, was the owner of a photo studio in Qingpu District. In June last year, a man approached her and asked her to make fake ID cards for three people from Yunnan Province. He said they had lost their ID cards in Qingpu and were in a hurry to find a job in Shanghai. So they needed the cards urgently. Miao then took their pictures and approached forgers to get the identity cards for them.
