A total of 355 workers received more than 8 million yuan (US$1.16 million) in back pay awarded by the Pudong New Area People’s Court yesterday.
Among them, 200 are former workers at online food vendor Yummy77 that went bankrupt in April. Wan Houzhong, a former delivery man, received more than 20,000 yuan. “I couldn’t believe that I can really receive my pay before the Spring Festival,” he said.
