Yangpu police net bike thieves in the act

TWO bike thieves flopped miserably in trying to hoodwink the cops recently.
On June 28, Yangpu District police became suspicious after they spotted two men hovering around a bicycle parking space around 2am.
One of the thieves walked away with two bikes, Shanghai Television reported yesterday. When they arrived at a secure location, the two men tried to break open the locks. At this point, the police showed up and surrounded them. One of the thieves in red tried to escape but was caught by the police.
The other thief in white simply lied down on his stomach in the bush and covered himself with a jacket.
“Maybe he thought if he can’t see us, we can’t see him either,” a policeman told STV.
The two suspects have been detained by local police.
