Ying Yong named executive vice mayor
THE newly elected Vice Mayor Ying Yong becomes the city’s executive vice mayor taking charge of development and reform, commodity prices, finance and taxation, the city government announced.
Ying, who is the city’s deputy Party Secretary, is also in charge of supervision, personnel, population management, statistics, energy construction, ports, proposals and advice handling, as well as open government affairs, according to the new division of labor publicized on the official website of the city government.
He will also assist in supervising auditing.
Ying, 59, is a native of Zhejiang Province and he was appointed vice mayor of Shanghai after the approval from the city’s legislative body last Wednesday. He has been serving as the city’s deputy Party secretary since July 2014. He is also the First Vice President of China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong.
The city’s former executive vice mayor Tu Guangshao has become the deputy board chairman and general manager of China Investment Corp, a sovereign wealth fund responsible for managing part of the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
Tu oversees the investment of China foreign exchange reserves.
