Han Zheng talks with boss of Allianz SE

SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met Oliver Bate, chairman and chief executive officer of Allianz SE, on Tuesday.
Han said the leaders of G20 countries, some developing countries and international organizations just had a summit in Hangzhou and they discussed issues of economic growth and cooperation. The meeting was successful and fruitful.
He said Shanghai remains steadfast in its reform and opening effort and will carry out institutional reform and innovation in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone to provide new rules and policies that are in line with international practices and suit Chinese conditions.
The Party chief spoke highly of Allianz’s contributions to the city’s development and the German company’s suggestions for Shanghai FTZ as a member of the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai.
Han said the Shanghai government will continue to support Allianz SE and other foreign companies to develop business in Shanghai.
Oliver Bate said Allianz SE gives top priority to developing business in China and has a long-term, active cooperation with the city of Shanghai. The company has full confidence in the Chinese economy and hopes to expand cooperation with Chinese companies through the free trade zone.
