Han Zheng talks with the boss of LinkedIn

SHANGHAI Mayor Han Zheng yesterday met Reid Hoffman, chairman of LinkedIn, the business-oriented social networking service provider based in California, USA.
Han said that Shanghai’s advantage lies in its openness and pool of talent. The city needs a lot of skilled professionals with international visions to help it develop into a global innovation center.
He stressed creative approaches to attract overseas professionals to work in Shanghai and offer them good personalized services.
Han said there are many state-own enterprises, private firms and multinational corporations, corporate headquarters and R&D centers in Shanghai, and LinkedIn specializes in global human resources service backed by big data. Shanghai and LinkedIn have a big potential for cooperation.
Hoffman said that the Chinese economy represents a big part of the global economy and Shanghai is the most important city for LinkedIn to expand its business. His company is keen to tap China’s human resources market and contribute to development in China and Shanghai.
LinkedIn was founded in 2003 and now has 364 million users in more than 200 countries.
