SHANGHAI Mayor Ying Yong met with visiting Czech President Miloš Zeman and his delegation on Wednesday.

Ying and Zeman also oversaw the signing of a sister-city agreement between Shanghai and Prague and a number of contracts for cultural and health cooperation between the two cities.

Ying said China and Czech have developed strong ties in recent years and upgraded their relationship to strategic partnership. The two countries signed important documents for the Belt and Road construction.

He pointed out that Shanghai and Czech are complementary in economy. The two sides have cooperated fruitfully in trade, health, culture, aviation and other fields.
