共同提高城市发展水平 杨雄会见土耳其安卡拉市市长

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met a delegation from the Turkish capital of Ankara, led by his counterpart Melih Gökçek, yesterday.

Yang said the China-Turkey relationship is growing steadily as a result of frequent exchange of visits by the two countries’ leaders and their cooperation in international affairs.

He said China and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the “Belt and Road” initiative. He was impressed by Ankara’s urban regeneration program and theme park construction when he visited the city last year.

Yang said Shanghai and Ankara can cooperate closely in economy, trade, education, urban construction, culture, environmental protection and tourism. He believed the Ankara mayor and his delegation will gain a better understanding of Shanghai on their visit.

Gökçek said Ankara is building a big theme park and is carrying out some ecological restoration projects. He hoped to learn from Shanghai’s experiences and practices in urban construction, urban management, and tourism development.
