Mayor receives HK delegation of young entrepreneurs
杨雄会见香港青年交流团 探索沪港合作新领域

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong yesterday met Hui Wing Mao, chairman of Hong Kong New Home Social Service Center, and a delegation of young Hong Kong entrepreneurs.

Yang said Shanghai and Hong Kong have a long history of cooperation. Shanghai has received big support from Hong Kong in economic development and Shanghai officials have borrowed good experiences from their Hong Kong colleagues.

The mayor said Shanghai is keen to deepen cooperation with Hong Kong to tackle their common problems and achieve mutual prosperity. The Shanghai Free Trade Zone has operated for two years and will continue to carry out reforms and opening to stimulate trade and investment.

He said Shanghai is striving to become a global innovation center and is supporting young business starters with many incentives. Hong Kong entrepreneurs are welcome to launch their businesses in Shanghai.

Hui Wing Mao said Shanghai’s economy is growing at a fast pace and the city has a good environment for innovators and business starters. He will introduce Hong Kong’s young entrepreneurs to Shanghai and help promote the cooperation between the two cities.

His New Home Social Service Center led about 1,200 young people from Hong Kong to visit Beijing, Shanghai and other mainland cities on this trip. They will tour some industrial and technology parks in Shanghai.
