1 killed in knife attack

ONE person was killed and seven others were injured in a knife attack in central China’s Hubei Province yesterday, local police said. The incident happened about 9:40am on a street in the Jianghan District of Wuhan, the provincial capital. Police were called to the scene where they detained the alleged attacker, a 38-year-old man. Eight people were taken to hospital, and one later died from injuries sustained in the attack. Police did not give details of the victims, but said an investigation is under way.
