10 die in smashes

TEN people were killed and 24 injured in two road accidents in southwest Guizhou Province on Thursday and Friday, local authorities said. A heavy-duty truck rolled while making a turn on a road in Huangping County at 4pm on Friday, killing four pedestrians and injuring the same number. The second accident occurred in the city of Bijie on Thursday. A bus rolled over, killing six people and injuring 21 others. Both accidents are being investigated.
