100-episode DVDs to compile performing excerpts by celebrated Chinese opera artists

VALUABLE performing excerpts by famed traditional Chinese opera artists have been videotaped, digitally preserved and compiled into a 100-episode DVD series.

The series covering regional operas of Peking, Kunqu, Huju, Yueju, Huaiju and Huangmei is produced by Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

The excerpts include celebrated artists Mei Lanfang, Xu Yulan and Yao Mushuang. Some old video clips have been newly restored and backed up on the Internet.
