10,535 in graft probes
CHINA put 10,535 former officials or government employees under investigation in the first three months, suspected of having committed crimes in abusing their power, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said yesterday.
A spokesman said the SPP placed under investigation 632 former officials or government employees implicated in 5,567 significant cases which concerned abuse of power and caused strong public resentment.
The supreme court also said that more than 920 officials or government employees were being investigated in bribery cases.
