13 die in Gansu landslide
THIRTEEN people are dead after a landslide in northwest China's Gansu Province early today.
A total of 15 people were buried in the landslide at 1:40am at Huating County, Pingliang City, said a statement from the provincial government's emergency response office.
Rescuers had found all those buried in the debris by 6am and taken them to hospital where 13 later died. The other two were in normal condition, it said.
The workers were dredging a local river when 3,000 cubic meters of debris came crushing down, it said.
