13 died in two accidents in southwest China's Sichuan

A total of 13 people were killed in two accidents happened on Tuesday and yesterday in southwest China's Sichuan province, said local authorities yesterday.
Eight people were killed when an iron tower fell down in Huizhe village of Yanyuan county, Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture at around 11am. Tuesday, said officials with the provincial work safety department.
There were 11 construction workers when the accident happened. Five workers were killed at the scene, three died on the way to hospital and three others were injured. The injured workers are not suffering from life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Yesterday afternoon, a minivan veered off the road and plunged into a 1,000-meter deep ravine in Jinyang County of the same prefecture at 4:50pm, killing all the five people aboard.
Police are looking into both accidents.
