15 dead after bus falls into ravine in Sichuan
FIFTEEN people were killed and six were injured after a bus overturned and fell into a deep ravine in Aba Tibetan-Qiang autonomous prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province, local police said today.
The accident happened around 12:30 pm today. The bus, carrying 21 people, fell into a ravine located about 1 km away from a tunnel exit positioned on the side of Zhegu Mountain, police said.
All of the injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The bus departed from Chengdu and was on its way to Maerkang county in Sichuan when the accident occurred.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
