16 die, 10 injured as truck overturns on mountain

SIXTEEN people died and 10 were injured after a trailer truck turned over in rural Jiangxi Province, the local government said.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, when the truck, carrying 28 people and 26 tons of pears, overturned at a corner on the steep slope of a mountain in Nanfeng County. Fifteen people were killed at the scene and one died after emergency treatment at the hospital, Xinhua News Agency reported.
One person was severely injured among the 10 injured people.
An official investigation found the truck violated the law because it was designed to only transport goods.
