16 students injured in stampede at shopping mall during autumn outing trip

SIXTEEN pupils were injured in a stampede this morning in a shopping mall in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Television reported.

A primary school in Yuhuatai District organized 40 to 50 students to a local shopping mall as autumn outing trip. When taking an escalator, some students suddenly step backward, which caused the stampede, it reported.

The injured students are being treated in the Pukou Hospital, it reported.

Photos showed the incident occurred in the Happy World, an amusement park built in the Rsun Mall.
