16 students poisoned by chlorine gas leak

SIXTEEN students fainted at school yesterday morning due to chlorine gas leak from a titanium factory in Tongzi County, Guizhou Province, China National Radio reported today.
The leak began when a valve broke around 2:30am. Students smelled the odor after arriving at the Tongzi No. 5 Middle School. Sixteen of them fainted during classes.
The students were sent to the hospital immediately and they are all in stable condition, the report said.
It's the second time that chlorine gas leaked from this factory. The first leak in June 2011 sickened 106 pupils in the nearby Yuantian Primary School.
