184 fake liquor producers seized in police raids
LAW enforcement officers busted 19 counterfeit rings across China, nabbed 184 suspects and seized fake liquor and packages valued over 3 billion yuan (US$472 million), the Ministry of Public Security said yesterday.
Police in eastern Zhejiang and Fujian provinces and the cities of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai raided underground workshops in Wenzhou of Zhejiang and Ningde of Fujian and uncovered 14,000 bottles of fake Maotai, Wuliangye and Jiannanchun, all famous Chinese liquor brands.
Police also seized more than 30 million fake labels and packaging items as well as tools for producing and transporting counterfeit liquor.
