191 officials charged with graft

CHINA’S top procuratorate has named and charged 191 officials with corruption offences since April, officials said yesterday.
Among the officials, 129 were charged with bribery, 19 with abuse of power and seven with dereliction of duty, according to statistics provided by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
Figures indicated that an organization’s head — such as a Party chief, mayor or director — were most likely to be corrupt.
