2 dead after barge capsizes

TWO people have been confirmed dead, with nine others still missing, two days after a barge from Hubei Province capsized in the neighboring province of Hunan, local authorities said yesterday.
One body was found at the scene as a barge transporting sand capsized at around 4am on Thursday. Rescuers later retrieved another body from the water, according to the Jingzhou City government. The dead, both natives of the city, were the chief engineer and the boat's cook. The accident occurred in high winds in a tributary of Dongting Lake in Hunan.
