2 detained for mongering online rumors in Beijing

Two men have been detained in Beijing for fabricating online rumors and maliciously harming the reputation of others, Beijing police confirmed today.
Yang Xiuyu, founder of the Erma Company, and employee Qin Zhihui, were allegedly found to have created and spread of online rumors and taken profits from their illegal acts, Beijing police said.
They are also suspected of the crimes of provoking trouble and illegal business operations.
Yang and Qin have confessed to the crimes.
Four other employees of the company are also under investigation.
