2 die in minivan shooting

A GUARD in an armored cash transport minivan shot the driver and then killed himself outside a bank in north China's Hebei Province yesterday morning, police said.
An initial investigation found that the guard had a dispute with the driver and shot him inside the vehicle at around 9:30am outside an Industrial and Commercial Bank of China branch in Handan City, police said.
No other details were released and an investigation is ongoing.
Earlier media reports had said it was an armed robbery, but police said that was not the case and no money was involved.
The guard and the driver worked for the Kelong security escort company in Handan, China News Service reported.
The company said the pair were laughing and joking at a meeting the previous day and there was no sign of any animosity between them.
