2 killed in road crash in E China

TWO people were killed as a BMW car roared past a crossroad and crashed into three vehicles in eastern city of Nanjing yesterday.

The driver wasn't drunk as the police have taken the driver's blood sample for examination.

Police surveillance footage shows the sedan ran the red light and dashed through the crossroad at full speed.

It hit a Mazda car, a bus and a taxi.

The driver and a passenger in the Mazda car were killed and the taxi driver was injured.

"The accident made a very loud noise, and we heard a bang far from the crossroad. It was like an explosion. I saw a car part fly over the roof of the Bus No. 87."

The BMW driver fled the scene after the crash, but was later captured by police.

The details of the accident are still under investigation.
