2 suspects seized after killing 2 lives in robbery

POLICE in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, have caught two men suspected of killing a one-year-old boy and his babysitter and robbed the home of 100,000 yuan (US$15,375.2) in cash and jewelry.

Nanjing police said the two suspects, aged 21 and 22, posed as delivery men and lured the babysitter to open the door while the apartment owners were away on May 17, Yangtze Evening News reported today.

One suspect pinned the babysitter in her 60s to the floor while the other began searching the room. When the woman tried to protest, they stabbed her to death. The pair heard the cries of the boy in the next room and suffocated him to death.

After obtaining cash and jewelry worth of 100,000 yuan, they ran away in different directions.

The boy's mother, 35, said she often received the delivery of goods she ordered online.
