26 in hospital after gas leak

TWENTY-SIX people were still in hospital yesterday after a toxic gas leak poisoned 38 in Zhejiang Province on Monday, officials said.
Two of the 26 are in serious condition, said Yan Dehua, emergency office director of the provincial public health department. The accident took place about 7pm on Monday when workers were dismantling tanks containing poisonous benzene near a village in Jinyun County of Lishui City. Thirty-eight people were poisoned after inhaling the gas and 12 have been released from the hospital.
