27 movies to hit China's screens next week

"INTO the Deep" will hit screens across Chinese mainland tomorrow, unveiling a spectacular summer movie season with 27 movies shown in August.

The US production, taking the audience on a spectacular three-dimensional exploration of the undersea world, has moved forward its China's debut from next Monday to tomorrow, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.

Among the other big productions are French director Luc Besson's latest film "The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec" that will debut on next Tuesday.

Luc Besson showed his film last month when he attended the Shanghai International Film Festival and got a warm response. It unfolds an adventure set in the early 20th century and focuses on a popular novelist and her dealings with would-be suitors, cops, monsters, and other distractions.

Meanwhile, US blockbuster "Inception" - a science fiction-action film starring Leonardo DiCaprio - will hit screens on September 21.

It will go up against renowned Chinese director Zhang Yimou's latest production "The Love of the Hawthorn Tree" which is scheduled to debut on September 16.
