28 held in leak of government worker test

TWENTY-EIGHT people, including government workers, have been detained for leaking this year's government worker recruitment test in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Xiao Hua, Party secretary of Guangxi Personnel and Social Security Bureau, resigned over the scandal, the regional government said yesterday.

The government scrapped the scores of the leaked tests and said test sitters must take another test on April 25.

The Guangxi government launched an investigation after 707 test takers had suspiciously high scores in the test on January 16.

Among the detained is Huang Wenliang, a worker with Guangxi Personnel Test Center, Xinhua reported.

Police said he took a wireless modem into the office when helping compose the test and sent the test papers and answers out to four other people for profit.
