28 people injured in car accident in Singapore

A TOTAL of 28 people including 24 Chinese tourists were injured in a traffic accident here Tuesday morning.

According to the website of the Chinese language newspaper Lianhe Zaobao, the accident, which involved a tour coach and an local SBS bus, took place at around 10:00 a.m. local time at the junction of Selegie and Mackenzie Roads.

The report said that tour coach, which carried 25 Chinese passengers from Hunan province, hit the local SBS bus from behind, which made the bus run into a tree on the roadside.

The police said that among the 28 injured people, 24 were Chinese tourists, the other four were passengers on the local bus.

The report said the injured people have been sent to three local hospitals and they are in stable condition, adding that the police are investigating the case.
