3 Japanese held over drug smuggling

THREE Japanese men have been detained by police in Zhuhai City of south China's Guangdong Province for allegedly smuggling drugs.

They were detained on July 17 for allegedly smuggling marijuana and ice drugs, today's Huanqiu.com reported.

The Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou confirmed the report to the website and said the three men were detained in the same place.

Last month, four Japanese men - three in their 30s and one in his 60s - were detained at a hotel in Shenyang, capital of northeastern China's Liaoning Province, for allegedly smuggling drugs.

In April, four convicted Japanese drug smugglers were executed in China.
