3 charter planes flying 600 Chinese out of Egypt
TWO chartered planes carrying 480 Chinese citizens took off from Cairo International Airport this morning while another plane is on the way to the Egyptian city of Luxor to pick up 220 stranded Hong Kong tourists.
Hainan Airlines A330 left Cairo at 8:23am local time and will land at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in southern Guangdong Province at 6:50pm Beijing time, Xinhua reported today.
The airplane sent 35 tons of water and food to Cairo airport.
Air China A330 took off at 7:43am local time and will arrive in Beijing this evening.
China Southern Airlines will also send an A330 to Luxor to pick up 220 Hong Kong tourists stranded in the ancient Egyptian city. The plane left Guangzhou at 11am today and is expected to arrive in Luxor after midnight and depart immediately at 2am local time. It is expected to arrive in Hong Kong at 11am tomorrow, Xinhua reported.
