3 men mince boy's body in ransom murder

THREE suspects, who allegedly abducted a 9-year-old boy, killed him and chopped up his body in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China's Henan Province, are facing kidnapping and murder charges.

The schoolboy, Zhang Shihao, met Liu Zhiwei on his way home on November 2, 2010. Liu asked Zhang to help pick a yo-yo for his niece, lured him into a car and drove away, Henan Business News reported today.

Later that day, Liu called Zhang's father asking for a 100,000 yuan ransom. Zhang's parents called the police and went to a bank the next day, accompanied by police, to pay the money to a bank account Liu had provided.

But on November 4, Liu called Zhang's parents again, asking for another 100,000 yuan, and warned them not to report to police.

This time police stopped them from sending the money.

Investigation showed Liu and two accomplices killed the boy soon after they got his home phone number. The three kidnappers strangled the boy and chopped up his body. Then they used a meat grinder to mince his body parts and threw them into a river.

The gang has been arrested and will be charged with kidnapping and murder at the Zhengzhou Intermediate People's Court.
