3 more cases confirmed in east China
THREE more H7N9 bird flu cases were confirmed in east China's Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces yesterday.
A 38-year-old man tested positive in Zhejiang's capital of Hangzhou. Six of the 46 cases reported in the eastern province have resulted in death.
"Few of the newly confirmed patients are in a critical condition," said Li Lanjuan, who is in charge of H7N9 treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University.
She said the outbreak was expected to come under control due to the closure of live poultry markets and the warmer weather.
The Jiangxi cases were an 80-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman.
