3 officials sacked for sex with underage girls

THREE local officials are among the six men detained for having sex with two teenage girls in Lueyang County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, according to the police.

The police dismissed an earlier rumor that a 12-year-old girl was gang-raped, saying she was lured by her schoolmates into prostitution to earn pocket money, the Chinese Business Post reported today.

A village Party secretary, surnamed Wei, and two township officials, surnamed Jiang and Zhao, were sacked yesterday by the Lueyang County government.

Police also detained the sex trade middleman surnamed Chen, 20, and his helpers, two 14-year-old girl students, the report said.

The 12-year-old girl sold sex several times in September and October. She was not injured during sex in a hotel room. Her bleeding was the result of menopause, according to the police.

The case is still under investigation, the paper said.
