3 students punished for selling drugs on campus
THREE high school students in Shenzhen, a city bordering Hong Kong, were sentenced to 18 months of limited freedom for drug trafficking, the Legal Daily reported today.
Police caught one student surnamed Chen while he was selling drugs in the school last October. They seized 14 packs of drugs from him and 850 yuan (US$135) of drug money. Chen's confession led to the detention of his two partners the next day.
Prosecutors said there has been an increased incidence of drug cases in schools. Students use online chatting tools to find drug dealers, bargain for prices and fix transaction venues, the paper said.
The three delinquents chose to deliver drugs because they wanted to have fun and earn some pocket money, unaware it was a crime, according to the report.
