35 seized in glue poisoning that killed 4 workers

GUANGDONG Province police have nabbed 35 suspects for illegally producing and selling poisonous glues which claimed four lives, China's work safety authority said today.

Since last September, 39 workers have been poisoned by the toxic glue they used in poorly ventilated leather factories in Guangzhou, the provincial capital and four of them died.

Authorities found 34 of the leather factories operated without a license. The 35 suspects include factory owners.

In a separate case, three people were killed by hydrogen sulfide poisoning in a factory in Gansu Province in northwest China.
